Robert H. Booz Vice President & Distinguished Analyst |
Mr. Booz has more than 25 years of experience in the health insurance and managed care industry, including executive roles leading managed care organizations and consulting with the nation's largest managed care companies. His work has also included IT strategic planning, packaged software implementation, and business operations improvement as well as work with senior management to develop strategic/tactical plans, market and product expansions, and turnaround activities. A key element of this work has been assessment of the IT and core competency infrastructure. He holds a faculty position and is an associate research fellow at the Center for Healthcare and Insurance Studies at the University of Connecticut providing insight into leading-edge perspectives on issues shaping the industry.
Bob received an undergraduate degree from Dickinson College and a master's degree with a concentration Health Care Management from The Pennsylvania State University. He was a Fellow in the first HMO Management Fellowship Program.

Jonathan Edwards Research Director, Gartner Healthcare Europe |
IT and business issues affecting healthcare providers in Europe. He is responsible for developing the Gartner healthcare research practice in Europe. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Rishel consulted in healthcare integration and clinical systems developing standards-based architectures for major health systems. He designed clinical applications and helped lead Health Level Seven's efforts to apply Extensible Markup Language (XML), object modeling and software component technologies. Prior to that, Mr. Rishel was employed at Bell Atlantic Healthcare Systems (which later became Oacis Healthcare Systems) as the vice president of product development, where he developed one of the first interface engines and the first PC- and LAN-based products to be widely implemented in healthcare institutions. Mr. Rishel was the founding technical chair of Health Level Seven and now serves as the Chair of its Board of Directors and serves on the Boards of Directors of the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the eHealth Initiative (eHI). Mr. Rishel studied mathematics at Dartmouth College and electrical engineering at the University of Michigan.
